I saw a hip hop dance on TV last night and was amazed at how the dancers flip their bodies and throw it in the air without fear of falling or breaking a bone. It’s wonderful to see youth enjoy life and be the best that they can be, giving their best, and accessing the good in them. The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow and even when they seem rebellious today, it’s just their way of insisting that they are individuals creating their niche in the world. Hip hop is a niche that many youth, almost all actually, like to be perched in. Vetement hip hop is really like part of life already, like part of what we do every day. Every day we change clothes and most often, sometimes without really knowing it or even trying, we choose the hip hop style. Donning an oversized tee shirt and low rise jeans with a big leather belt is already hip hop, you know. It’s really the era of hip hop.
